Mount Vernon Presbyterian School Spring Visit Day

During each semester, the Mount Vernon Institute for Innovation (MVIFI) hosts a school visit day at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School (MVPS). The morning and lunch event provides an experiential workshop in the practices of learning walks and instructional rounds (see mvifi.org/rounds). The design also allows for an interactive tour of the School. Because the visit curates a group, the event is also a super networking opportunity.

MVIFI Flash lab - A Design Thinking Workshop

Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, Atlanta, GA

MVIFI specializes in design thinking as a problem-definition-and-problem-solving framework. Our FlashLab process provides a facilitated opportunity for people to take a "full lap" in design thinking to understand the process in a fun and collaborative context. The FlashLab is hands-on and highly experiential. Time will also be spent sharing some of the design thinking stories from Mount Vernon and beyond.

MakerTech Summer Professional Development

The Steward School, Richmond, VA
August 13-17, 2018
At Steward MakerTech Week, you’ll learn how to use high-tech tools and coding to bring your students’ ideas to life. If you’re ready to add to your teaching toolbox so you can use and integrate robotics, 3D printing, and programming languages such as Arduino and Scratch, this is the workshop you’ve been waiting for. Learn how to use a makerspace to foster inquiry, critical thinking, creativity, and social skills. Get ready for a week jam-packed with ideas to prepare your students to meet the future head on. The cost is $750 for the week, and scholarships are available.
