SAIS Board of Trustees Call for Nominations
The SAIS Board of Trustees is responsible for the supervision, control, and direction of the association. Per the bylaws, trustees must be heads of SAIS member schools. The nominations process takes place each spring.

Term of Office
The trustee term, which begins on January 1 of the year following election, is three years. A trustee may, during tenure or at the time of rotating off the board, be elected to a position as an officer. Officers are exempt from the regular board rotation.
The board meets three to four times a year. Board members are expected to attend all meetings. Additionally, the board may meet by video or conference call other times throughout the year as needed.
The committee on trustees processes the nominations and reviews the nominees. The committee makes recommendations to the full board at the summer meeting each year. The slate is then presented for approval by the membership at the SAIS annual business meeting, which takes place at the SAIS Annual Conference each fall. New trustees begin their terms on January 1 of the following year.
