Announcing Damian Kavanagh, SAIS Vice President of School Services
SAIS is pleased to announce that Damian Kavanagh has been appointed to the newly-created position of Vice President of School Services.  Damian comes to SAIS with a strong independent school background, having served The Westminster Schools of Atlanta for 15 years in a variety of teaching, coaching, and administrative roles, and most recently serving as Head of School at Cambridge Academy in Greenwood, SC.

As Vice President of School Services at SAIS, Damian will manage the accreditation program and serve as the primary liaison to the SAIS Accreditation Committee.  Additionally, Damian will travel around the region to observe accreditation visits and present workshops on-site at member schools.  With experience in a variety of areas from teaching to technology to coaching, Damian has served on and chaired multiple SAIS-SACS accreditation teams.  He was also an active volunteer in the accreditation program of the American Camp Association.  These experiences allow him to bring a unique and informed perspective to the implementation side of the SAIS accreditation process.
