Since 2007, the Ron Clark Academy, affectionately referred to as “RCA,” has been striving tirelessly to change the face of education in all ways possible. We are a highly acclaimed, nonprofit middle school (grades 5-8) located in the historic community of southeast Atlanta. Led by Disney National Teachers of the Year and cofounders Ron Clark and Kim Bearden, our team of educators serves the RCA mission by engaging students through innovative teaching strategies combined with a strict style of classroom management.
Where Academics and Spirit Collide
At RCA, the strength of our program is rooted in three focus areas: academic rigor, student engagement, and climate and culture. Each year, our students come to us possessing different levels of academic success prior to attending the Academy. Regardless of their circumstances or learning styles, our decorated faculty maintains an elevated standard of performance and behavior expectations for all students. Within the first year of instruction at RCA, students typically experience double percentile increases in performance across all subject areas (i.e. math, reading, science) and continue to improve as they matriculate. As a result, students thrive in our program and position themselves to become recipients of various awards. Last year’s graduating class of 2016 earned a record-breaking $4.2 million in scholarships to some of the nation’s best independent and boarding schools.
Inviting Others to Join the Revolution
Since welcoming nearly 2,000 visiting educators in 2007, RCA has also served as a premier educator-training facility that shares best practices with educators from around the world. Through the RCA Experience, our award-winning staff inspires teachers and school administrators to create classrooms that are full of enthusiasm and academic excellence. By utilizing this reach, we have directly impacted over 1 million students in classrooms around the world. The program has surpassed all expectations and continues to be the most prominent method of reaching students outside of RCA. During the 2016-2017 school year, RCA is expected to welcome 6,300 visiting educators, producing a grand total of 42,700 visiting educators who have gained our techniques and methods.
