Trinity Episcopal School, a K-8 independent school situated in the heart of uptown Charlotte, NC, was founded upon the educational traditions of Episcopal schools. The school was founded 17 years ago and since its founding, the school has stayed unwavering in its mission to create scholars, nurture spirituality and embrace diversity. Trinity is grounded in a program that inspires a lifelong love of learning and a quest for knowledge.

Classrooms filled with students from different racial, ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds enriches the education of every child. Furthermore, Trinity provides 25% of its current families financial aid. Likewise, the foundation of any school is its faculty. To reward and retain high-performing teachers, Trinity Episcopal School provides opportunities for faculty to grow as professionals and resources toward their continual growth. In 2016, faculty and staff participated in more than 2,500 hours of professional development.

As children of God, Trinity’s commitment to outreach and service to others is demonstrated by a remarkable service learning program. Each grade level is partnered with a community organization whose services are related to curricular goals. Students address real community needs in ways that are connected to and informed by their classroom learning. Regular and meaningful service activity in local and global community is intended to open children’s eyes to the broader world, develop service as a habit of the heart and intentionally challenge students to step out of their comfort zones. The culmination of this service learning curriculum is an 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C., focused on social justice issues.

With a current student body of 445, Trinity has no plans to increase enrollment, but has recently announced a capital campaign, “Together for Trinity,” to expand the campus footprint in order to include a state-of-the-art community space that accommodates all-school chapel services as well as performing and visual arts. In addition, this campaign will grow and fortify the school’s endowment to allow increased financial aid and professional development dollars.

Trinity Episcopal School serves as an extraordinary beacon of education creating civically engaged ambassadors of grace. Trinity alumni are proving everyday that this model is a successful one. To learn more, please visit www.tescharlotte.org.
