Madison-Ridgeland Academy in Madison, MS, is a college preparatory school serving students from K3 through graduation. Founded in 1969, MRA is a community of students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni — an extended family — who are committed to the school’s mission of developing the mind, body, and spirit of each child to the highest standards.

This mission is manifested daily in school life through outstanding academic offerings accompanied by a full array of artistic and athletic programs, a Christian emphasis on spiritual growth, and a myriad of clubs and organizations with opportunities to lead and serve others. MRA provides a well-rounded education with the goal of preparing students for lives of learning, character, and service.

The school’s academic legacy continues to be exhibited by the many awards and scholarships accrued by graduating seniors, and this past year was no different: 100% of MRA’s graduates received scholarship offers and for the tenth time in the last 11 years, an MRA senior received the highest academic scholarship from an in-state university. For the second year in a row, one in six seniors scored 30 or better on the ACT. MRA Kindergarten continues to score in the Top Ten Percentile nationally on the Stanford Achievement Test and MRA Elementary students consistently score one to two grades ahead of grade level on the SATs.

MRA is currently constructing a new middle school building and a 10,000-sq.-ft. dining commons, which will open in the 2018-19 school year. This building is necessitated by eight consecutive years of growth reflecting record numbers of new students, along with exemplary retention rates of existing students.

When MRA began 48 years ago, the family atmosphere and individualized attention were an integral part of the culture of the school. As the school has experienced exponential growth in student numbers, record academic achievements, and championship athletic accomplishments, an emphasis was placed on maintaining those core values that have always been a priority at MRA. With record enrollment of 1,141 students, MRA continues to build on its proud history while strategically planning for the limitless possibilities of its future.
