Westminster believes in inspiring children who are nurtured by challenge. Every day, the school connects bright, curious students with opportunities that expand their vision and help them meet their greatest aspirations because the world they will inherit calls for a new kind of leader.

Love.

From their earliest years, Westminster students are loved – and develop a love of learning. The 1,870 bright, motivated, and curious students inspire Westminster to continue growing as one of the nation’s leading independent schools. Guided by the school’s mission to prepare students for college and for life, and supported by more than 280 faculty, students are propelled to mine their curiosity, expand their vision, and discover their purpose. Lower school students jumpstart their day with a morning meeting dedicated to sharing, interacting, and supporting each other. That supportive environment follows them to the middle school where students participate in small group advisories every day. Upper schoolers are paired with advisors and have daily access to a dynamic student support team, dedicated faculty and coaches, learning specialists, and nationally recognized college counselors.

Challenge.

To light minds on fire, you just need to add the right accelerant. Westminster students are intensely curious. Their curriculum, from pre-first through Upper School, is designed to meet the demands of motivated minds. Classes incorporate experiential and service learning as well as character development. From innovative programs like design thinking in the lower school and the upper school’s three-week accelerated JanTerm, to 15 global programs and a partnership with the Global Online Academy, Westminster provides students with opportunities to pursue their passions and reach their highest potential.

Lead.

Tomorrow calls for a new kind of leader. To become leaders in a rapidly changing world, students need to know more than facts and figures. They require a new way of thinking that combines knowledge and hands-on learning, along with lessons that focus on not just how to be good students, but better people. For students to be catalysts who lead and inspire, Westminster faculty have the freedom to design experiences that continuously expand limits — intellectually, physically, and spiritually — and incorporate character and professional development at every turn.

Change.

Since 1951, students have been inspired to become leaders of conscience in Atlanta and throughout the world. When Westminster students team up, they change things for the better. Students travel near and far, engaging in countless hours of civic opportunities, tutoring children in Kenya, and building homes in Guatemala. After graduating, alumni have gone on to revolutionize the technology industry, research cures for diseases, lead internationally recognized nonprofit organizations, and compete nationally in sports. That’s the Wildcat Way.
