2010 SAIS Board of Trustees Call for Nominations
Nominations for board service beginning January 2011 closed on May 19. The slate of nominees will be presented to the membership during the business meeting at the 2010 SAIS Annual Conference, on Sunday, October 17.
The board of trustees is responsible for the supervision, control and direction of the association. According to the bylaws, trustees must be heads of SAIS member schools. The board seeks to represent geographic diversity as well as diversity of school mission. Nominations were due by May 19.

Term of Office
The trustee term, which begins 1/1/2011, is three years, at the completion of which the trustee may be elected for a second three-year term, or shall rotate off the board. At the completion of a second three-year term, a trustee must rotate off the board for a period of at least one year. A trustee may, during tenure or at the time of rotating off the board, be elected to a position as an officer. Officers are exempt from the regular board rotation.
The board meets four times a year: in Atlanta, GA (October, January, and April) and in Amelia Island, FL (July). Additionally, the board may meet by video or conference call other times throughout the year as needed.
The committee on trustees will process the nominations and review the nominees. The committee will make recommendations to the full board at its July meeting. The slate will be presented for approval by the membership at the SAIS annual business meeting in October. New trustees will begin their terms on 1/1/2011.
