The Donoho School is a coeducational, college-preparatory day school for grades PK4-12 located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Anniston, AL, and founded in 1963. Donoho’s students and faculty are fueled by the school’s mission: The Donoho School empowers me to LEAD: Live with honor, Engage my passion, Act with humility, and Delight in wisdom. Delighting in wisdom begins with the littlest falcons in Early Childhood with a daily emphasis on experiential, hands-on opportunities and nurturing a love for learning.

The upcoming school year brings a new vision for technology to the lower school.  David Noone, head of school, shares, “A 21st century education needs to address technology at a new level. No longer is it how to ‘use’ technology; it is how to ‘think and create’ with technology.”  Over the summer, the school will be transforming the physical space and the curricular vision of technology at Donoho. Under the direction of a full-time educational technology coordinator at the lower school, programming, robotics, and other forms of technology creation will be emphasized, beginning with the youngest students in the Early Childhood Department. What we use, the space we use it in, and most importantly what we use it for is about to radically change.  As we continuously review academic and enrichment programs that best meet the needs of students, we look forward to incorporating this new tech vision into our curriculum and after-school programs.

The completely reimagined space, Dash and Dot robots, and Vex IQ Robotics will now be available to all lower school students, beginning at age four. We hope to encourage collaboration, innovation, and imagination with an ever-present goal of inspiring our students to find the endless ways to delight in wisdom.
