Students and faculty head to Georgia for a two-day camping trip to experience the solar eclipse. A mock trial team member wins both best plaintiff and best defense attorney in a countywide competition. The upper school robotics team qualifies for the second consecutive year to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championship. Lower school classrooms successfully hatch and raise broods of chicks for the Chicken Club. Middle school students write biographies about senior citizens through community outreach. And a team of freshmen produces, directs, shoots, and edits a video that becomes the catalyst for one of the most successful fundraising initiatives in our school’s recent history. That was just last school year!

Seacrest Country Day School is an early childhood through grade 12 independent school in Naples, FL, committed to fueling intellectual engagement, teaching ownership of the educational experience, cultivating quality of character, and inspiring students to lead lives of significance. For the past 35 years, Seacrest Country Day School has created complex learners, inspired teachers to promote curiosity, advanced authentic learning, and challenged our community to become the best versions of themselves. Today, Seacrest is known for our emphasis on helping our students balance our robust and comprehensive curriculum with co-curricular activities and independent studies. In short, we want our students to discover and to explore their passions and we want to equip our alumni with the skills to be engaged citizens who make a difference in the world.

Our early childhood learning program called Baby Rays supports individual exploration through play and developmentally appropriate experiences. The infant and toddler classrooms welcome students aged six weeks through three years old and incorporate learning centers to promote growth and development of social, emotional and physical skills. Seacrest also proudly provides the only lactation room for parents, faculty, and staff in an independent school in Florida.

Seacrest’s lower school classrooms, serving preschool through fifth grade, buzz with activity, collaboration, and intellectual challenges in writing, literacy, science, and foreign languages. Our classrooms are deliberately small to facilitate positive relationships between teachers and students and enhance individualized learning experiences.

The strength of our middle school is the relationship between teachers and students in the classroom, on the playing fields, and in our advisory program. Middle school faculty take great pride in understanding and recognizing the academic, emotional and social needs of adolescents in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Our faculty understand how to motivate our students, while clearly defining students’ responsibilities and the expectation that Stingrays must own their educational experience in the classroom and beyond. Students practice this concept each year during student led conferences, a student-driven approach to traditional parent-teacher conferences where students are responsible for highlighting their work, explaining their failures, and setting goals.

Upper school classrooms are places of lively debate and creative application of learning. A thriving independent study and internship program affords Seacrest students the opportunity to develop and pursue academic passions. In Seminar, ethical dilemmas force students to self-reflect and more clearly articulate their beliefs and reasoning. The college counseling process at Seacrest is a customized, student-centered journey that begins freshman year and continues throughout our alumni’s college careers.

Seacrest alumni pursue advanced degrees and impact the world in meaningful ways. Graduated Stingrays are artists, attorneys, medical professionals, sound editors, engineers, human rights advocates, and performers. When a student is graduated from Seacrest, they carry with them the confidence to try new things, the patience to fail, and the drive to follow their passions.

Our school song states that Seacrest is a magical journey. We reinforce our commitment to this journey and to each other and to our world each Friday at Flag Ceremony where Seacrest students, faculty, coaches, and parents join together to celebrate our mission.
