“Every child is given the opportunity to fully unlock his/her potential – to be recognized, welcomed, and appreciated for his/her unique strengths, challenges, gifts, and passions – to become the very best version of who he/she was made to be!” – Currey Ingram parent

At the core of Currey Ingram Academy is a belief that every child can learn. Founded more than 50 years ago, Currey Ingram is a K-12 day school in Brentwood, TN, that empowers students with learning differences to achieve their fullest potential. We deliver on this mission by providing:

  • Small classes (3-8 students);
  • Evidence-based instruction taught by highly qualified teachers;
  • Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) for every student;
  • Speech-language and academic occupational therapies for students who need it;
  • Executive function skill development and social-emotional learning and coaching;
  • Personalized college preparation and counseling; and
  • Nationally recognized parent and educator workshops.

We understand that students learn differently so we must teach differently. We emphasize an individualized, structured, multisensory approach to instructional practice by creating memorable, multimodal, multifaceted, and diverse experiences for our students. Our diagnostic feedback processes and our small class sizes ensure students have continuous progress monitoring and are in a learning group that ensures optimal learning. Our students experience the joy of academic success, often for the first time in their lives.

In addition to our personalized academic program, we provide robust arts and athletics programs, service learning, and leadership opportunities; and celebrate our students’ talents and strengths so they can achieve and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our Annette Eskind Institute of Learning hosts monthly national and regional experts in learning differences for both educators and parents as well as a two-day neuroscience and education symposium that brings together educators and healthcare professionals to hear about the latest brain research as it relates to education and how to apply this information in the classroom and in their practices.

Situated on 83 acres that include nature trails, creek, horses, and sports fields nestled in a valley south of Nashville, Currey Ingram Academy is considered one of the most beautiful campuses in Middle Tennessee. This peaceful setting mirrors the nurturing educational environment created to ensure students thrive and succeed.

At Currey Ingram Academy, we settle for nothing less than being a global leader for students with learning differences. By promoting strengths and supporting differences, our students receive the education they truly deserve. To learn more, visit
