St. Luke’s is an independent, college preparatory school in Mobile, AL serving students in K2-12th grade. Based on the fundamental precepts of education excellence in a Christian environment, supported by a loving, caring, and highly qualified faculty, St. Luke’s is a mission-driven school dedicated to develop young men and women of honor, faith, and responsibility with character and intellect to thrive in college and life.

Founded in 1961, St. Luke’s expanded the mission to include an upper school in 2009. On May 9, 2013, the first graduating seniors earned their diplomas. In just six short years, St. Luke’s has been named in the Top 25 Private Schools in the state, awarded 107 Presidential Scholarships, 90 Presidential Academic Achievement Awards, and 15 Capstone Leadership Academy Members. St. Luke’s has six honor societies, 15 varsity athletic teams with six state championships,  student-led clubs, and Honor Council.

St. Luke’s is known for its academic rigor starting with instruction beginning in preschool. St. Luke’s lower school serves children K2 through the 5th grade and offers a strong core curriculum as well as enrichment classes that include art, music, computer, foreign language, physical education, math and science lab, and library.

St. Luke’s middle school offers a challenging curriculum in core academic courses with an emphasis on skills and knowledge necessary for academic success in the upper school. Students participate in physical education daily and are offered electives in other disciplines. Middle school students are responsible for service hours and also participate in activities such as student council, organizations, and athletics.

St. Luke’s upper school curriculum is enhanced by AP, honors-level and elective courses, a fine arts program, University of Alabama Early College course offerings, college counseling program, access to new and emerging technologies, and a biomedical health science program, which features the areas only fully functioning skills, simulation, and debriefing lab. St. Luke’s students, at every grade level, consistently score well above the state and national averages on standardized tests.

St. Luke’s strives to be more than a school to our students. Our small size allows students to receive more one-on-one time with teachers and coaches, learn more, participate more, and play more. As Head of School Mike Notaro says, “We are very fortunate in that we have such an outstanding faculty who understands the many moving parts of a quality independent school. They make us #morethanaschool by living our mission statement.”
