Inspiring Creativity

With myriad information about learning and the brain and new cognitive research available in recent years, it can be challenging to wade through and determine what is most relevant for shaping the minds of young people. And how can school leaders turn their students into great thinkers who know how to analyze, how to work through problems, and how to be effective in their own way?

Educators themselves need to be able to offer inspiration to their students. They can’t do the same-old, same-old every year and expect to stimulate young learners. Cultivating creativity among faculty and school leaders helps them to build resiliency and be better problem-solvers, thus making a better impact on the school overall.

These intangible skills may not always be easy to come by – not like learning a new handwriting technique or computer coding. Rick Wormeli, a nationally recognized speaker and author, and one of the first Nationally Board Certified teachers in America, will present two sessions at the 2015 SAIS Annual Conference to address these issues.

Join Rick for a keynote address, Cultivating Personal Creativity on October 19 at 9:00 AM, and for a session titled Practical Cognitive Science Principles for Differentiated Instruction October 19 at 11:00 AM for innovative information to take K-12 schools into the 21st century and beyond.
