Beaufort Academy is a coeducational independent college preparatory school of 250 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12. At Beaufort Academy we utilize our small size to our advantage and offer innovative programs, internships, immersive field trips, and hands-on learning. Students at BA experience how school should be. They develop meaningful and powerful relationships with their educators to optimize their learning experience. Our faculty is experienced in challenging the gifted student as well as gifting the challenged student with confidence and a love of learning.

Beaufort Academy's small size promotes a family atmosphere where children feel safe; not only physically safe but safe to express themselves and their individuality. Our core values of Intellect, Respect, Integrity, Leadership, and Pride are woven into the BA experience, ensuring that character education is taught and embodied in tandem with academic education. Our athletics program allows students to join the team of their choice. Our coaching staff is dedicated to improving and strengthening the experienced and talented athlete, as well as teaching and boosting the confidence of the less experienced athlete. The ability for students to play sports and to play multiple sports, at their school instills pride, support, and lifelong teamwork skills. Ninety-three percent of students in Grades 8-12 participate in athletics; 70% of those students participate in more than one sport.

Beaufort Academy admits students of all races, nationalities, creeds and socioeconomic backgrounds, and is committed to diversity. The campus sits on 24 acres on Lady’s Island, just east of Beaufort.

The school employs 36 professional educators. The average teaching experience of this faculty is 15 years. Our average class size is 16 with a student-faculty ratio of 7 to 1. More than 50% of faculty holds advanced degrees.

The school provides honors level and Advanced Placement courses for students in the Upper School, including: AP European History, AP US History, AP English Literature, AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Psychology, Physics, British Literature, Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish III, IV, and V.

In each of the last five years, students have received combined college scholarship offers in excess of $1.5 million per year; 100% of graduates are accepted by four-year colleges and universities.
