ABOUT THE RETREAT:

Pushing Our Horizons: How Do We Tackle the Big, Hairy Challenges of the Next 20 Years?
An opportunity for key school administrators to sharpen their skills in today’s evolving educational landscape that will go beyond “why” and focus on how change can best be accomplished in a setting that is often change-resistant. Led by Grant Lichtman, an internationally-recognized K-12 transformation thought leader, attendees will work together as they imagine futures that may look very different from the past and build a capacity and comfort with ongoing change. Participants will examine what it means to shift schools from being teaching organizations to learning organizations, which traditions are important to preserve, and which traditions hamper this shift to a long-term growth mindset.

Who should attend?

  • Head of School
  • Assistant Head
  • Division Heads
  • Admissions/Development Officers
  • Other members of your school's leadership team

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Grant Lichtman is an internationally-recognized thought leader on the transformation of K-12 education. Since 2012, Grant has visited more than 125 schools and districts, published three books, written numerous articles, and worked with thousands of school and community stakeholders to develop unique and powerful visions and strategies for transforming education away from the Industrial Age and towards future-focused models of deeper learning.

  • The LR reconnected me with what I need to do to let my team shine.
  • It was great to have such a diverse group of heads together and sharing ideas.
  • The most important part of the retreat was getting to know the other school heads ... I got a good overview of leadership, how it can be defined, and what it looks like in action.
  • Well worth taking days at this very busy time of year. It was energizing enough to get me through to graduation and provided great ideas for planning for next year.
