This program provides resources and tips for the varied tasks included in the administrative support role. Learn practical strategies for handling the types of issues related to supporting a K-12 independent (private) school administrator. Network with other assistants to share time-saving tricks and proven solutions. The current price is $550 for SAIS members and $649 for non-members.

While this program is open to non-members, registration is limited to those from schools that meet the SAIS  membership criteria. 

WHEN:

Monday-Wednesday June 29-July 1, 2020

  • Registration opens at 2:00PM on Monday, June 29
  • First session begins at 3:00PM
  • Final session concludes at 11:45PM on July 1

Emory Conference Center Hotel, 1615 Clifton Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329

HOTEL RESERVATIONS:

  • Group rate = $169
  • Cut-off date: June 8 or when the block is full
  • Group rate available 3 days pre/post based on availability
  • Parking included for hotel guests during conference dates. Day guests will receive parking vouchers.

GETTING THERE:

  • AIRPORT: Hartsfield Jackson International Airport (ATL)
  • GROUND TRANSPORTATION: The Emory Conference Center & Hotel is located 30 minutes from the Atlanta airport (ATL).  We recommend using a taxi or Uber/Lyft.

MEALS:

Your registration fee includes:

  • Monday: dinner
  • Tuesday: breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Wednesday: breakfast, lunch

  • This institute is such a great forum for assistants to be able to confidentially share their experiences, learn from each other and build camaraderie. I hope to be able to return next year!

  • Interacting and meeting new people is the most important part of the IHA. Since executive assistants do not have peers at their own schools, it's important to find someone you can associate with, create a friendship, and have as a go-to person (outside of your own organization) for ideas.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The IHA allowed me to connect with two peers in my area and we are planning to meet on a regular basis.

DRESS CODE:

Business casual (erring on the side of casual) is always safe with us. We want you to be comfortable. Be sure to bring a jacket or sweater in case you find the meeting room chilly. We tend to skew cooler rather than warmer.

THE FINE PRINT:

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received before June 8 via www.sais.org/cancel will be refunded less a 20% processing fee. After that date refunds are no longer available, but replacement registrants are welcomed.

Target Audience:  SAIS professional development events are designed for those currently employed by K-12 independent schools. Topics are presented from an independent school perspective and discussed based on that unique culture. As such, registration is limited to faculty/staff from SAIS member schools or from non-member schools meeting the SAIS candidacy criteria.
